Boston Public Gardens
This is a painting I did in acrylics, back in 1995, when I lived in Boston. I was still very much influenced back then by the pointillistic technique of Monet. I have since moved to oils, which are very rich and beautiful and allow glazes. /paintings
Still Life at the Art Students League
My first still life painted at the Art Students League in New York with Pionk. Mr. Pionk was a master at pastels, and a true genius in still life. His touches are evident in this work. He personally added the little highlights to the apples. He always insisted on keeping highlights to a minimum, but placing them well. I was very saddened by his passing from lung cancer recently.

Marilyn
A tribute to my mother, I painted this from life. I had difficulty painting the hands and ended up using my own hands as a model, which I painted using a mirror. She points toward the bible, which she kept on her lap often
The Cellist
I painted this at the Art Students League at Peller's class. I especially enjoyed capturing the rich tonalities of the wood and the varying shades of grey and black.
The Fifteen Minute Portrait
This was taken during a workshop at ICP, the Fifteen Minute Portrait with David Turner. I used multiple strobe lights to create this powerful and evocative portrait.
